Stinebaugh & Company is a leading Alaska Representative for manufacturers of HVAC equipment and systems. Founded in 1992, Stinebaugh & Company currently has thirteen employees. In general, we sell to mechanical contractors and end users throughout the State.
Position Purpose
The Sales Team Member contributes to our company goal of meeting the needs of our customers while providing accurate, timely and positive results. This position requires a consistent, honest and profitable sales effort, the creation and nurturing of customer relationships, superior communication skills, effective problem resolution, in addition to accurate pricing and ordering.
Major Tasks, Responsibilities and Key Accountabilities
- Participate in the sale of HVAC equipment.
- Make equipment selections and determine equipment pricing for assigned manufacturers/equipment lines.
- Write and send proposals.
- Follow up on open proposals.
- Prepare submittal data.
- Prepare order summary sheets and place orders.
- Route, track, expedite and follow up on orders.
- Communicate with various manufacturers and factories to gather general and/or technical information, expedite orders, and provide customer service.
- Provide excellent customer service through direct communication with individual customers in person and via telephone, email and direct contact.
- Promote and sell HVAC equipment to contractors, engineers, and end users.
- Develop and nurture key business relationships.
- Work effectively with all members of the company to facilitate company sales activity.
- Meet sales goals for assigned manufacturers.
- Resolve problems effectively, fairly and timely.
- Abide by the foundation principals & values of the company.
Nature and Scope
- Reports to Team Leader.
- Has frequent contact with customers and manufacturers’ sales representatives, on the phone, via email, and in person.
- Follows diverse and complex procedures to analyze situations and makes conclusions.
- Solves problems from several options and past practices of the company.
- Work progress and results are periodically monitored. Has flexibility to change, or improve, work procedures.
- Delivers documents, or products, to customers and visits jobsites in remote locations.
- Meets deadlines, quotas and applies good communication skills in difficult situations.
Qualifications
- Must pass drug test.
- Must have a clear command of the English language.
- Can communicate in a positive manner, even in difficult situations.
- Technical knowledge of HVAC systems and prior work experience with HVAC systems required.
- Must have extensive software, computer skills and knowledge.
Certificates / Licenses
Current Alaska Driver’s License.
Physical Job Requirements
Most of the workday is spent sitting at desk, or walking in the office. During jobsite visits, climbing may be required. There will be some lifting and moving of equipment or material. Engineer and Contractor visits are made on an as needed basis.

- Knowledge of commercial HVAC products and systems.
- Proficiency in Microsoft applications.
- Ability to learn, navigate and utilize manufacturers’ software programs.

- Ability to think outside the box.
- Good interpersonal skills.
- Must be a team player.
Compensation/Benefits
- Initial compensation will be salary based on experience, industry knowledge and core competencies. As sales volume increases, compensation will include salary plus commission.

John’s Site Visit with HVAC, Inc. to UAF
A successful outing Friday, July 25th 2014 at the UAF Campus Dining Hall. Stinebaugh’s John Post traveled to Fairbanks to experience a walk through with an enginner and contractors. The photos below show a few hoods HVAC, Inc. installed. It is nice to see our end product in use!
